My Charities

There are two reasons why I have chosen to support the four leading cancer centres in the UK and young people with terminal illness and conditions, my mother and father.

Mum (aka Mother) was diagnosed with breast cancer and was successfully treated at Weston Park Hospital. She still goes for her six monthly checks and we still cross our fingers everyday but the team there helped to keep our family together and this is in some small part, my way of helping all those people that work tirelessly to fight cancer on behalf of all ordinary people across the UK.

When over 23,500 children and young people across the UK are unlikely to reach adulthood, it makes you realise the importance of not wasting the talent and opportunities that you are given in life. Although I am 44 years of age at the time of writing, I am still reminded on a monthly basis by my Father to realise my full potential? Perhaps it is his way of driving me forward or just making realise how fortunate I have been? By completing the challenges I hope in some way I can help enhance the lives of those with shorter lives.

The Christie Charitable Fund

The Christie, Manchester is one of Europe's leading cancer centre's, treating over 40,000 patients a year. The Charity raises money for cancer research, new facilities, high-tech equipment and extra patient services- helping cancer patients both cope with and survive cancer. The money that we will raise together will help directly fund the Young Oncology Unit.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only charity raising money to directly benefit the patients of the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre- the leading cancer centre for Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and the Isle of Man.They need to raise £1.4m each year to provide outstanding cancer care to around 27,000 patients. The money that we raise will help them provide the most up to date treatment, support vital research, treat patients with world class equipment and provide life-changing support services that would otherwise be unavailable.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

The Royal Marsden, London is a world leading cancer centre, providing the very best treatment and care for more than 40,000 cancer patients each year. The money that we will raise together will help directly fund a new £13million imaging centre.

Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity

Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Sheffield pioneers cancer research and helps to improve cancer treatments and care for patients. The money that we will raise together will help directly fund a new cancer research and treatment suite.

Together for Short Lives

Together for Short Lives are the UK voice for children and young people who are not expected to live to reach adulthood. They are there to ensure that families have the best quality care and support wherever they live and for long as they need it. The money that we will raise together will help directly help fund children with life-limiting and life threatening conditions and their families.
